SWEDO was founded to create a safe, empowering space for Somali women to connect, share resources, and drive positive change. In response to patriarchal structures limiting women’s participation, it enables marginalized Somali women and girls to engage actively in community development.
Registered as an NGO in 2022, SWEDO integrates gender mainstreaming across all its efforts.
